in 1992 when she was just graduating from high school Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology at Alaska Pacific University, Anchorage in Alaska. Bossard began her commercial seafood career in 1999, after she began working on the ship F/V Sunset. The 65' schooner converted to a salmon tender was operated by Murat Aritan. He has been a commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard has been is married to Aritan and the couple has united to make their rights to the industry. They are both in favor of conservative and profitable management of sustainable seafood resources. Otolith launched its direct market wholesale distributorship in Philadelphia in the year Bossard came back from her home in her home town with two daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre 1, to Philadelphia. Her husband and she are separated by 5 months and more for her to focus on her finances as well as the environment. As of July 2016 Bossard and her daughter Isabella age 12 and Andre age 10 Andre age 10 return to Southeast Alaska annually each summer to work as deckhands throughout the summer wild salmon harvest.
